The US is hurting itself the most with tariffs. There is more to trade than just consumer spending.

If you manufacture something in the US, where do you get your materials from? All the switches, resistors, wall anchors, tools… You have a shop that’s 100% using German machine tools you can’t expand anymore. Intel cannot built or upgrade fabs because ASML is dutch. Using any power tools? Built in China. Yes they are buying less stuff but they also sabotage their own ability to built stuff. Every US product will get more expensive anyway due to this.

They are doing this at the same time that they massively cut public spending for a nice double-whammy. They can’t even react because they are indiscriminately axeing the state workforce.

Best I can do is to boycott all US products.

I just want to point out that even extremely unlikely scenarios happen all the time, given how many possible “tries” there are. People win the lottery, survive falling out of the sky, etc.

If you search for it, its only reported by two outlets. There is not a single German newspaper reporting this, including left wing or Berlin regional ones. Searching for the names in the articles returns no results linked to Berlin or Free Palestine at all. The name of the public official also turns up nothing.

Yeah nothing in the taz - Germanys biggest left wing newspaper. Nothing in the Zeit and nothing in Tagespiegel (Berlin Newspaper) either.

I wish we would stop reporting this as an economic issue and instead cared about people themselves.

The people are great though. Social cohesion is good. People care about each other even if they don’t talk. So at the same time, you get your peace, and you get support by everyone.
