  • Oh wow, that’s quite a double-edge in feelings there.

He taught me all kinds of outdoorsman skills, taught me how to keep family close, and how to honor my word. I don’t know if I could have handled if he survived and continued along that path.

He sounds, overall, like a good man you could model a few aspects of your life after. Which is rare for abusive parents - it kind of sounds like they were trying to do the best with what they knew, but were unable to cope with the stress, and had no socially acceptable outlet beyond abusing their kids.

  • I place a steady hand on their shoulder and force them to the floor. If they’re going to apologize, then they can start by licking my boots for the great transgression they have put upon me.

Do they not know how to properly beg for mercy in the company of their betters? Their lack of foresight deeply upsets me, and as they sit there bawling their eyes out, I gently remind them of all their failings in life.

It usually leaves me quite chipper, and I spend the rest of the day regaling them in tales of my success and generosity, and bring up studies relating to genetics, phrenology, and sharp leather attire.

  • Hell yeah, spirits only though since no one’s yet found a ‘medicinal’ reason to bring beer along. I like a bit of Hayman slo gin, we’ve got some Schadlerer schnapps, and plenty of clear bottles.

Being drunk’s pretty much the same but it hits you way faster and passes quicker too, hence why you only do a little bit at a time. No one’s vommed yet, but got plenty of towels around for other reasons just in case

  • It’s real, but it suffers from a namespace problem.

Back in the day, Wizards could generate scenes out of thin air by using verbs like convert and montage and import. These worked really well for a while, but the wizards found that if they used these verbs in other contexts, they could cause damage to the whole ecosystem.

As you might imagine, verbs like import can be quite general, and if uttered improperly could lead a worldwide freeze until the wizard came to their senses and realised how to cancel the spell.

So there’s been a recent push by the Wizard’s council to stop making these verbs so globally widespread, and to constrain them under the umbrella of magick words, in the sense that calling the verbs alone wouldn’t do anything, but calling magick convert or magick import would. The changes are set to become permanent after 7th summit, but there is still some resistance from naysayers who complain that it will break their elaborate spell workflows.
