That’s actually a good point. I just checked the dimensions and it’s about the same size as my current 13" which has quite large bezels.

Yeah, because they’ve been doing this to us plebs for years now.
No 13" model? :(

If you’re not cycling a pedal-powered generator to run your system then is it really self-hosted? My servers only use organic transistors grown in my zen garden.
The app name is very 2004. Have we not yet left the great vowel shortage of the early 21st century?
I really hope that all these git hosts (codeberg, gitlab, gitea etc.) can get federation working for forks and issues. It would really make a compelling alternative to github if you could sign up an account on any git host and know that you can then contribute to any project hosted anywhere else without having to create an account on every service.
What desktop environment are you using?
Free Open Source Software. It is software that gives you the freedom to see the source code, make modifications to it, and redistribute your changed version of the software to your friends.
FOSS software is generally developed in the open by a community of volunteers, although we are increasingly seeing FOSS projects take on funding from community donations or corporations that want to support the software’s development.
You can read more about it on the Free Software Foundation page: https://www.fsf.org/about/

This is a horrible decision.
ATT … penalised smaller publishers in particular since, unlike the main vertically integrated platforms, they depend to a large extent on third-party data collection to finance their business
Cry me a fucking river.
Thanks for the pointers. If I had 1000 albums already downloaded then I don’t think I’d have a problem setting up something like Jellyfin to stream them to my devices, but the problem is that I’ve only used streaming services for the past ~15 years or so, which means I would need to do a lot of legwork to locate all of these albums to download.
wow I’m glad I don’t live there
Ideally not much more than I currently pay (€10.99/mo).
I’m not sure what risks you’re referring to, but I’m not going to download linkin_park.mp3.exe
from Limewire if that’s what you mean.
I have about 1000 albums in my library and I mostly just play my entire library on shuffle. I don’t want “mood” or “genre” playlists when listening, but I do like recommendation systems that just tell me what artists are similar to the ones I’m listening to (without auto-playing them).
The binaries in question are various GNU and FOSS tools from elsewhere, not part of the Ventoy project itself. So no, the Ventoy author does not own the copyright of the tools in question.
For me it’s about minimizing weight so I can carry it around without exacerbating my back problems. My current 13" is just a hair over 1kg without the battery pack expansion, and about 1.3kg with it.
