He was trying to get free advertising out of the court. But also, we’ve had animated avatars and text to voice for over a decade now. This isn’t an AI use case.

Maggoty@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Russia is not on Trump's tariff listEnglish13·9 days agoIf I’m a politician and I’m putting tariffs in place, the one place getting annihilated by a 1,000% tariff is the place I’ve already sanctioned into the ground. Is that performative? Maybe. Would it prevent headlines like this? Yep.
Makes you wonder what’s going on in the swamp.

This is absolutely a situation you could legally draw a gun and start shooting at people. Police should be in uniform and showing ID. This is how militias in “bad” countries abduct and kill people. There’s no way to tell them from the police. This is not normal in a western democracy.

This is not how an arrest is done in a normal country. This is how you disappear people and how militias can fake being police to abduct and kill people.

Who was famous for doing stuff in Northern and Western Africa? Who drew the lines that fucked half the world? The US is in the picture, but it’s not alone by a long shot.

It wasn’t widely known until the post war era. Now that we do know we need to act.
But we shouldn’t just tell them they can’t do stuff. We should be pouring massive amounts of money into helping them skip over coal, farm vertically, and get away from slash and burn farming.
There’s more we can do than just tell them they’re being bad.
The sheer amount of money being removed by the 1 percent is regoddamndiculous. It’s something like 45 trillion dollars since wages diverged from productivity in 1975.
