I’ve already tried getting as much US services out (youtube is still a pain) to feed them less data. Also now using Ublock, Privacy Badger and Decenteraleyes. Think if everybody started doing that it could already have a great impact

I’ve switched to Floorp which feels like a more modern Firefox/LibreWolf to me
I know you probably came more for the Boycott US but this is Buy European and we shouldn’t mix those up really
The socks from http://varusteleka.com/
I’ve seen those in the comments already but those prices are just too high imo
Any business2business or consumer2business communication will likely still happen over email for a very long time
Am I correct that these are all germany only? These are the only well priced sites I can find in the comment section here but if I can’t get them delivered in the Netherlands my search will have to go on 🥲
Can say PME legends is an expensive brand but the quality is great. I bought a few pieces of their clothing (have yet to buy new jeans, but will be buying them from PME legends when I do) and they’re my favorite pieces of clothing
Idk what’s worse, that they shared the name of it or what they actually picked as the name 😭
Yooo legend I’ll take a look
I’ve tried it out, works great when its in the database. But half of the products I have here at home scanned as unknown, they state they’re notified of it and will add it so lets hope they’re able to keep that up at whatever scale such products are being submitted. Quite a few recognized products also didn’t have a country linked.
Its still young and I think by having people use it we can feed it what it doesn’t know so the creator can start adding it.
“Brussels should propose those tariff lists as soon as this week.” Looking forward to what they can come up with
From what I notice in the Netherlands. The people who think the EU does not benefit them are mostly people that work (or own companies) in industries that the EU regulates harshly (think farmers here). Ofc these people think its not beneficial to be in the EU, their livelihoods are at risk because of it.
I do think the EU is basically necessary for the EU countries to thrive.
Completely agree than if we make small changes we can have a big impact together / over time. The issue is that these small changes usually come at a cost (financially, time consuming, effort, etc) that young people just cannot really afford easily.
My message was written more to give the perspective of young people already struggling. If you’re stressing each day about making rent and putting food on the table, why would you take the time to be worried about global issues? It’s really just thinking about the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
Also a question in the regard, what can we influence? The work we do and what we do with our money or culture and climate? 1 is something we have basically direct impact on (and that directly impacts our daily life) the other is basically caused by the top 1% (people and companies) and making our small impact even smaller doesn’t change much and also won’t let us garuantee we can eat tomorrow.
I am a big supporter of being more climate friendly, but I also don’t think we individuals can make a big dent. We can make small impacts by changing our buying patterns and choosing more ecological when financially possible, but that’s also coming from a position of having the privilige to have enough time and money to focus on that.
Steam is still basically the only option AND they are actually helping Linux a lot with game compatibility. Altough, if I need games specifically on steam I’ll be buying the key from Greenmangaming (UK) or GamersGate (Sweden). If anybody has more alternatives feel free to let me know so I can add them to my list.
GOG sadly misses a majority of games atm so I just can’t replace steam with it yet.
Zen felt way too apple to me
