Detectorists is a masterpiece. Everything about that show is warm-hearted. Not even Lance and Andy’s rivalry with Simon and Garfunkel ever turns truly nasty.

WHAT IS THE CHARGE? Shooting a RAPIST? A disgusting rapist?
Yeah, they’re solid. I have a 2014 mini running Linux Mint that I use as my Home Assistant / Plex / Syncthing server. I also have 2011 mini that’s also running Mint that I use at work for giving presentations.
Oh yeah, I don’t disagree. I’m just surprised that there are so many people still rocking the older OS’s. Nicely surprised.
For what it’s worth, all three of my older Macs are now running Mint, having gone through a few years of Opencore.
There are apparently a lot of people still using Mac OS El Capitan or lower.
Yeah, I’m in the process of shifting all of my workflows over to Linux/Android from all-Apple, but my Macs are a huge sticking point. My main computer is an M2 Macbook Air, which is ridiculously quick. I’m basically just waiting for Asahi to gain display port over USB, at which point I’ll ditch macOS. But until then…
I switched over to GrapheneOS a few months ago. At this stage, the only Apple service I use on my phone is Apple Music. Oh, and my @me.com email address. If I could use iCloud Drive then I might, but as it stands I now use Proton instead.
I’ve stopped using a bunch of Apple stuff even on my Macs and iPad too, just so I can have some level of interoperability with my phone.
Mr Mobile talked about this in his review of Oppo’s Find N5.
Essentially, while the product is great and folding phones are finding more utility, the price is still prohibitively high.
I upgraded to a Pixel 9 a few months ago because I specifically wanted to run GrapheneOS. I did considered a Pixel Fold, but really couldn’t justify the extra cost. Maybe next time though…
Hands down, Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation.
He’s a libertarian who firmly believes in his right to self-determination, but doesn’t force that view on those around him; he lets them live their own lives and is there to help them whenever they may need. I do somewhat envy his ability to ignore the meaningless bullshit around modern life, how he paddles his own canoe and strives not to be in anyone’s way.
But most importantly, he’s fond of pretty, dark haired women, and breakfast food, and who can argue with that?
Yep, Lloyds.
Yeah. My bank is one of the few UK banks whose app won’t work with Graphene, which is irritating. Also, the lack of Wallet access for payment cards is annoying.
But all in all everything else works fine.
