An expert might not be able to tell if stimming is authentic but he can absolutely tell when someone spreads misinformation about Autism. Glad I‘ve waited for the Switch 2 pro controller to come out. I‘m in need of a new one and Xbox probably would‘ve been my second choice. And yes I‘ve looked into 8bitdio and what not, but they‘re not cheap either and I was happy with my switch pro for 7 years until recently.

I feel for you and I believe you when you say it helps you to see you‘re not alone. However there has been done a lot of observing by journalists and experts and it is largely agreed upon that the majority of information about autism on TikTok is sadly made up or heavily misrepresented.

Seeing other stim may be relieving but it doesn‘t change the fact that it‘s a platform where attention is the currency, virtually no fact checking is done and new, disturbing trends make the rounds all the time as a result.

Please be open minded about it. Because even if what you‘re seeing on there may be emotionally true for you, it‘s often played up or made up for attention.

The TikTok algorithm is also extremely aggressive in that it adapts very quickly to your preferences and creates closed environments. It is possible it simply doesn‘t show you any of those problematic posts. Whenever there‘s a critical article about the app, there are always users defending the platform and their users who genuinely think there is no issue because they can‘t see any of it in their feed. The way you respond to certain topics is completely different to how the average user responds and the algorithm picks up those differences very efficiently. I am sure most users have no idea what the site looks like on average.

Sad, disturbing and sadly not surprising. I‘ve heard the same is happening on TikTok for a while and probably many other corners of the internet. Just as we gain a better understanding of the matter, some bad actors have to ruin it for everyone.

That‘s how these contracts always work. You give up a lot of, if not all control over a project to pay Chinese workers with money you have to lend from China. That can only work with corruption and of course they‘re making shortcuts at every single turn. By the time it collapsed, the contractor already moved onto the next victim.

It‘s too expensive for society already as it has stolen work from millions to even be trained with millions more to come. We literally cannot afford to work for free when the rich already suck up all that productivity increase we‘ve gained over the last century.

I‘ve had a blast with The Finals over the last year and it cost me zero point nothing. Plus almost the entire retro catalog with all time classics can be accessed by a single purchase of a retro handheld that can cost you between 30 to 300 bucks depending on your budget. That‘s insanely cheap. You won‘t need new games for a very long time and even if you did, there are more fantastic indie games being made than ever and a growing number of them offers free demos for you to try. And they won‘t cost you an arm and a leg. Promise.

To be fair and I say that as a lifelong gamer: That‘s hardly one of my biggest concerns. I‘ve experienced ridiculous pricing policies in both software and hardware over the last couple years, preventing many of us to get their hands on the latest tech. Like, I will never own a high end computer. But I will also likely never own a house.

What I‘m trying to say is, gaming has been in an awkward spot for a very long time and it‘s still… fine. Paradoxically it‘s cheaper than ever to have a good time with games and the choices are endless even on a tiny budget. It‘ll be fine. We‘re facing much bigger problems in other areas right now.
